Primark Festival Dress

Primark Festival Dress As a girl on a budget I love nothing more than a bargain and this Primark Festival Dress is the ULTIMATE bargain!

I have to admit Primark sometimes frightens me, it can get a little bit frantic and there are clothes all over the floor and people scrambling around for bargains and I feel like I am in a war zone where it’s every man for themselves! However, sometimes I am very brave and venture into the breach in order to bag myself a bargain and this Primark Festival Dress was well worth the stress!

Primark Festival Dress At only £10, this dress had to be purchased. I really love the print detail across the fabric with the hem and sleeve red patterned detail which adds a great pop of colour and makes it so much more flattering. I have a couple of parties and a mini festival to attend this summer and the Primark Festival Dress is on the top of my list for getting packed! So far I’ve teemed it with my Bertie chunky sandals and my new favourite French Connection strappy emerald heels. I am also keen to try it out with a pair of flats and a top thrown over the top to make it layered as a top and skirt combo with the funky hem line and sleeves showing. I love a dress that is versatile enough to be worn for different occasions and to get layered up. A capsule wardrobe is an absolute must for me!

Superdry Multi Folk Stitch Mini Skirt

Superdry Multi Folk Stitch Mini SkirtMy absolute latest obsession – and it’s a bit of a mouthful – is my Superdry Multi Folk Stitch Mini Skirt. I have been wearing this with pretty much everything and anything. It’s one of those key pieces where I’ve had so many compliments about it and everyone is always really surprised when I tell them it’s from Superdry. So what is so great about the Superdry Multi Folk Stitch Mini Skirt? It’s got an a-line shape so is really flattering on the thighs and it makes it a comfortable fit. The denim blue base colour makes it easy to dress up or down, I have worn this on a night out with some killerSuperdry Multi Folk Stitch Mini Skirt heels as well as with my comfy moccasins for laid back day time feel. And the brightly coloured aztec / folk stitch pattern means you can pair it with so many different coloured clothes. I’ve been wearing mine with some French Connection emerald coloured shoes and the colour pop makes it a great outfit for the summer.

I’ve also been styling it with my Primark denim shirt, a plain tee and my converse sneakers for the ultimate laidback look. I am honestly struggling to find something that I can’t wear it with!

Superdry Multi Folk Stitch Mini Skirt

I plan to take the Superdry Multi Folk Stitch Mini Skirt through to my winter wardrobe by wearing it with thick black tights and either some Chelsea boots or a pair of brogues. This is one of few skirts that I feel comfortable wearing with flats, because the shape of the skirt is so flattering I don’t feel the need to wear heels to lengthen my legs and for a mini skirt I don’t feel too daring and baring in it.

So if I can recommend one item for your festival wardrobe which you can take through to the winter it’s got to be the Superdry Multi Folk Stitch Mini Skirt!

Breo Axis Watch Review

breo axis watch reviewAt last!!! I have finally found a chunky watch that fits my tiny wrists!! I have lived my adult life never being able to find a chunky watch or boyfriend style watch that doesn’t make me look like a child playing dress up!! I love the Breo Axis Watch so much that I couldn’t not give it a raving review, but I think the fact that I have had so many compliments about these watches speaks for itself! My very basic review of the Breo Axis watch is that it goes with everything, and can easily take you from day to night and doesn’t look out of place. But read on for my full review of the watches.

Rocking The Boyfriend Look

Superdry Boyfriend JeansAfter years of battling with the skinny jeans dilemma – in that they NEVER used to fit me – I then became obsessed with them and wouldn’t stop wearing them because I could finally show off my brand new, hard earned fitter self. So as my obsession grew so did my skinny jeans collection and then lo and behold my wardrobe consisted of nothing but skinny jeans and leggings! I have finally broken out of the pattern and have purchased a pair of boyfriend jeans! I am definitely one of those people who buys a new item of clothing and wants to wear it constantly and I am totally feeling that way about these ripped Superdry boyfriend jeans and my jofi hidden wedge trainers! My brother calls me Tulisa when I wear this get up and asks me if I’m going to be performing in a hip hop music video but what do boys know about fashion?!

They definitely took a while to get used to after spending the last year and a half in skin tight fitted clothes, but I love how versatile they are. They look equally as cute paired with a fitted tee and flip flops or pumps. I think the key to pulling off the baggy jeans look is to wear them with cropped tops or fitted tops to make sure you don’t look swamped by clothes and for us shorties wearing them with heels is a great way to stop your legs looking shorter! Keep it casual with hidden wedge trainers and limit the accessories.

Superdry Lace Grandad Top

lacegrandadedit

Totally fallen in love with this lace grandad top from Superdry! Love it so much I bought it in cream as well, it’s perfect for layering and can be used to add a little bit of elegance and glamour to an otherwise simple outfit. Lace is such a quick and easy way to make an outfit less dowdy! I like how tight the hem and wrists are on this as it’s not going to go baggy and lose it’s shape and is always going to stay nice and fitted 🙂 It’s also surprisingly warm! Normally I get really cold but found myself snug as a bug in a pair of uggs in this top and I didn’t need to keep my cardigan on all day.

I’ve also worn this or the cream version layered underneath short sleeve t-shirts or under an open shirt or blouse. It’s really versatile and I think I will get a lot of wear out of these both during the winter as a layering staple and also for summer evenings.

  • Burgundy lace top – Sueprdry
  • Cardigan – Superdry
  • Jeans – Superdry
  • Boots – Ugg Australia

Party Outfit!

This was actually the outfit I bought for my Christmas party but I will be getting it out again in a couple of weeks time to celebrate my sister in laws 30th birthday 🙂 Anyone who knows me will know that I love these leopard print shoes and will find any excuse to wear them! I honestly don’t know how I will cope when these shoes give up on me 😛

What I love about this outfit is that the top adds simple sparkle and shows off my shoulders, the skirt length is mid calf so it doesn’t feel like I’m flashing too much flesh (and it has pockets which is a detail I always love!) and the shoes, well I don’t think I need to explain why they are so great just look at them!

Ladies Day Cheltenham Races Outfit

LadiesDayOutfit I’ve lived in Gloucestershire for most of my life and have never been to the Cheltenham Races for Gold Cup Week! And now it’s finally time for me to go on Ladies day of all days!! Yippee! Up until this weekend though I was having a mad panic over what to wear! I was adamant I didn’t want to spend a fortune on a whole load of clothes that I may not wear again and my priority was to buy a nice coat which will last me a good few years. On top of that there is the added pressure of the hat. Everyone knows that ladies day is all about the hats! So here’s my outfit of choice, the only things I purchase now was the coat and some feathers, everything else was already knocking about in my wardrobe and waiting to be worn.

ladiesdayhatFor the hat, I purchased some feathers from Amazon, and wound some wire around the base to hold them all together. The brooch is an old brooch that previously belonged to my Nana, I threaded the pin through the wire and then through the felt band around the hat, and hey presto I had a cute little feather and glitz feature!

The coat was my big expense for this outfit, but like I said I wanted to invest in something that was classic and would last me a good few years. And now is definitely the time to be looking, with stores switching over to their SS15 stock all of the winter coats are hitting the sale rails! So go and grab yourself a bargain. My French Connection coat was reduced from £190 to £95! And I can definitely see it being a firm favourite!

How to Maximise Your Wardrobe

1st world problem: I lost so much weight that my clothes don’t fit me anymore and I can’t afford to buy any new ones. Bizarrely enough people are generally not sympathetic when you make that complaint! I would absolutely love for someone to give me a couple of hundred pounds so I could go on a shopping spree but it’s just not going to happen. And there are some dresses in my wardrobe that I truly cannot bear to part with! So over the next few weeks / months (depending on how much spare time I get) I will be taking in my dresses so I can show you how easy it is to lose weight and not lose half of your wardrobe in the process! Here are the dresses I will be working on, wish me luck and I will post photos afterwards 🙂

Dressestobealtered

  • Beaded neckline dress: FCUK
  • Yellow floral tea dress: FCUK
  • Red tea dress: M&Co
  • Pink lace dress: Very.co.uk
  • Green and white maxi: Handmade from some fabric that belonged to my Nana 🙂

Remember if you don’t feel confident enough to take in your dresses ask someone to help you, reach out to friends and family on facebook, Or take them to a seamstress it’s a lot cheaper than you’d think and will be far cheaper than buying the clothes all over again!
